Absecon, New Jersey - Freshman Jon Pratkanis led Duquesne University's golf team at Temple's John MacDonald Classic at Galloway National Golf Course. The two-day event concluded Tuesday. The Dukes improved seven strokes on the second day to move up to a tie for eighth place in the 10-school event.
Pratkanis, who shot a 78 on Monday, improved his score to a one-over par 72 to move from 18th to fourth place with a total mark of 150. Senior Mike Namey's 161 was good for 28th place.
Loyola College of Baltimore won the team competition (604) and Connecticut's Jason Parajeckas and Iona's Paul Selvaggio tied for the top score, two-over par 144. Parajeckas won the playoff for the 2004 MacDonald Classic Title.
This was the final event on first year coach Tom Farrell's fall schedule.
