Pittsburgh, PA - Second-year Head Coach James Walker recorded his 100th career victory as his Duquesne Dukes (8-8-1, 3-4-1A-10) took a 1-0 overtime victory against visiting Temple (4-12-0, 1-7-0 A-10) Friday evening on Rooney Field. Freshman Faye Rasmussen (Westlake, Ohio / Magnificat) netted the game-winner from senior Katie Schwager (Akron, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) as she scrambled past an Owl defender for a 10-yard shot from the far left-hand corner at 98:10.

Duquesne dominated play out-shooting the Owls 33-3, but saw several shots go long or wide with a gusty wind to their back. The Dukes saw a number of scoring opportunities fall short in the second frame as junior Elizabeth Riggs (Candor, N.Y. / Candor Central) attempted a header from sophomore Ashley Stelmak (Broadview Heights, Ohio / Brecksville-Broadview Hts) which slipped just wide on the right-hand post in the 56th minute and Schwager launched a ball from 30-yards out in the 57th minute that just touched the fingertips of Temple Keeper Jackie Mauro for the save.

Sophomore keeper Virginia Bondi (Strongsville, Ohio / Strongsville), who didn't have much action in front of the net, recorded two saves for the shutout, the third of her career.

The Dukes return to play this Sunday as they host Saint Joseph's at 1:00 pm.
