Duquesne University's Lauren Bracco scored two goals and Christina Goodfellow added another as the Dukes defeated the Youngstown State soccer team 3-0 on Wednesday night at Stambaugh Stadium.
Bracco scored the Dukes' first goal with one minute remaining in the first half on a corner kick from Caitlin Holmes and added her second goal late in the second half at 78:53. Goodfellow scored the second goal of the match at 47:18.
The Dukes outshot the Penguins, 20-8 and outcornered YSU, 9-0. Freshman Rachel Gecik recorded her first shutout and complete match. The Penguins' Mia Railing collected eight saves.
Duquesne stretched their unbeaten streak to three games and improves to 2-0-1 with the win. YSU drops to 0-3 on the season.
The Dukes travel to Loretto, Pa. on Sunday, Sept. 7th for a 2:00 pm match with the NEC's St. Francis.
