First-year head women's rowing coach Katie Kirsten has announced her first recruiting class for the 2003-04 season. Kirsten, who took over the helm in the fall of 2002, adds 11 newcomers to the roster for the up-coming season.
Kristine Breuning (Grand Island, N.Y./Holy Angels Academy), Kristen Graves (Strongsville, Ohio/Magnificat), Christa Laquinta (Galbway, N.J./Holy Spirit), Caitlin Maher (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker), Meghan McCurdy (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington), Elizabeth McKenna (Hamburg, N.Y./Shanghai American), Leanne Schaefer (Williamsville, N.Y./Holy Angels Academy), Elizabeth Schwert (Orchard Park, N.Y./Nardin Academy) and Jennifer Songin (Hamburg, N.Y./Nardin Academy) have signed National Letters of Intent to wear the Red & Blue.
Christal Adams (Pittsburgh, Pa./Westinghouse) and Simona Trevisan (Amherst, N.Y./Nardin Academy) join them as they have committed to Duquesne for the 2003-04 year.
Duquesne finished ninth at this year's Atlantic 10 Conference championship.
