The Duquesne golf team finished tied for second out of 10 teams in the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational. St. Francis (PA) won the event with a team score of 315-306-621, followed by Duquesne's 323-299-622 and Oakland's 318-304-622.
The Dukes, down by five strokes to the Rochester, Michigan school, shot a best of the day round of 299 to grab the second place tie paced by sophomore Tom Hungerford's 72.
Individually, sophomore Mike Namey led the Dukes and was fourth overall with a 76-75-151. Following Namey were junior Steve Seiden (79-74-153) and sophomore Tom Wears (78-75-153) who tied for sixth and Hungerford (82-72-154) who was tied for eighth. St. Francis' Eric Couture (76-73-149) defeated Dayton's Brett Gould (78-71-149) on the first play-off hole to win the individual title.
The Dukes return to action on Sunday, April 13 as they participate in the Wright State Classic.
