Duquesne University freshman Hugo Erse (Sao Paulo, Brazil/ Colegio Benjamin Constant) was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming Rookie of the Week for the second time this season as announced today by the conference office.
Erse broke his own school record in winning the 1,000-yard freestyle event in 9:55.06 in Thursday's loss at La Salle. Erse also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle event in 4:50.90 and second in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:03.46.
The Dukes return to action on Thursday, Feb. 20 as they compete in the three-day long Atlantic 10 Championship. St Bonaventure is hosting this year's tournament which will be held at the Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College, Buffalo, NY.
