Columbus, Ohio - Duquesne University's rowing crew captured the Head of the Speakmon overall points championship this past Saturday at Griggs Resevoir on the Scioto River. The DU women captured four first place medals and, in two races where more than one boat was entered, also took second place. Duquesne's men's club team also took two firsts and a second which enabled the Dukes to capture the event championship.
Among the teams competiting in this event were squads from the University of Charleston, University of Chicago, University of Cincinnati, Denison University, Ohio State University, Ohio University and Xavier University.
The Dukes return to action this Saturday, November 1st, when they will compete in the Head of the Occoquan in Fairfax, Va.
