Dukes Dropped By Temple, 3-1

Philadelphia, Pa. - Duquesne University's volleyball split their weekend competition in the City of Brotherly Love with a 3-1 loss (30-20, 30-22, 26-30, 30-26) at Temple's McGonigle Hall Saturday afternoon. For the second game in row, senior Sarah Morrow led the Dukes in kills and digs, this time with 18 winners and 14 saves.

Temple's Xu Yun led four Owls with double-figures in kills with a match-high 20 kills. The loss drops Duquesne's record to 9-13, 3-4 in the Atlantic 10 while Temple, in winning the ninth of their last 11 matches, is now 9-7, 6-1 in league play.

DU's Diana Wuebker added 14 kills and Stephanie Hopkins picked up 14 digs. Sarah Brown and Avery Dunn each had 25 assists.

The Dukes will be home next weekend when they host non-conference foe St. Francis (PA) and the A-10's George Washington on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24-25. Both games will start at 7:00 p.m. in the A.J. Palumbo Center.
