Coraopolis, Pa. - Duquesne University's golf team finished in sixth place among 10 schools competing in this week's Robert Morris University Holiday Inn Colonial Classic at the Montour Heights Golf Club in suburban Pittsburgh. The Dukes, who were in a tie for fifth after Monday's competition, improved their first round score by seven strokes.
Freshman Jon Merriott (Erie, PA / Cathedral Prep) paced the Dukes with a two-round mark of 153, good for a tie for fifth place.
DU will close out their fall schedule in two weeks on Monday and Tuesday, October 27-28, 2003 at Temple's John McDonald Classic at Galloway National Golf Club in Absecon, New Jersey.
