Two Dukes Nationally Ranked

Two Duquesne women's basketball players can be found among the NCAA statistical leaders as of Monday, Jan. 27. Junior point guard Shiri Sharon (Jordan Valley, Israel/Ostrovsky) is ranked 12th in the nation in assists at 6.9 per game while senior forward Beth Friday (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) is ranked 13th in the country in rebounds at 10.8 per game.

Sharon, who leads the Atlantic 10 in assists, has been the Duquesne leader in helpers in 15 of 18 games this year. She has registered double-digits assists on three occasions including a career-best 12 versus Xavier and Richmond.

Friday, who recently became Duquesne's first women's player to reach the 1,000-point and 1,000-rebound plateau, is currently second in the A-10 in rebound average and eighth in the conference in scoring with 15.2 points per game.

The Dukes return to action on Sunday, Feb. 2 as they host Dayton at 2:00 pm in the Plaumbo Center.
