Duquesne University freshman Ed Wicker (Newberry, SC/Newberry) was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office.

Wicker, a mid-season transfer from Wheeling Jesuit, won the 50-yard freestyle in a Duquesne season-best time of 21.75 in Saturday's loss to Towson. In addition, he won the 100-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 47.85 while helping the Dukes win the 400-yard medley relay in a season-best time of 3:36.74.

The Dukes return to action on Saturday, Feb. 1 as they travel to Clarion for their regular season finale at 1:00 pm.
