Four Duquesne University's swimmers were honored by the Atlantic 10 Conference Monday as the Dukes took all four weekly awards.
In men's swimming, senior Jonathan Pearce (Stockton, CA/Lincoln HS) was named Performer of the Week and freshman Jason Thornton (Cedar Rapids, IA/Kennedy HS) was cited as the Rookie of the Week. Senior Amy McLintock (Bradford Woods, PA/North Allegheny HS) and freshman Deidre Rodeheaver (Danville, PA/Danville HS) took the women's performer and rookie awards.
Pearce (left) placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.50 and second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:00. The Dukes took the top three spots in the 100 yard breaststroke competition.
Thornton (right) posted a time of 1:09.59 in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing second overall. The Dukes also took the top three places in the 100 yard freestyle with Thornton holding down the third spot with a time of 1:01:39.
McClintock (left) took first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:30.36 The Dukes took the top two places in this race.
Rodeheaver (right) placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.24. She was the Dukes top performer in the 200 yard freestyle with a 2:00:07 performance, 0.17 seconds short of third place.
