Dukes Lead After Day One Of Lafayette Invitational

Duquesne's golf team holds a seven-stroke lead after the first day of the Lafayette Invitational at the Architects Golf Club in Lopatcong, NJ. The quintet's tally of 292 set a school record.

Senior Steve Hale (Michigan City, IN/Marquette) and sophomore Steve Seiden (Media, PA/Strath Haven) led DU's golfers with an opening round scores of 72, just one stroke off the lead.

Duquesne paced all schools in birdies and par 4 and par 5 scoring.

The competition, which features 84 golfers from 17 schools, will be completed on Sunday at the NJ golf course.
