Coach Becker Signs Three Recruits

May 17, 2002

Duquesne University men's swimming coach Wayne Becker announced the signing of three swimmers to National Letters of Intent for the 2002-2003 season. John Holleran (Allison Park, PA/North Allegheny), Keir Weseloh (Totonto, Ontario/Subway Academy II) and Douglas Yeager (Dallas, PA/Dallas) are the newest Dukes.

Holleran comes to Duquesne as an All-American and four-time state qualifier. He was the 2002 WPIAL 100-meter breaststroke champion and fourth place finisher in the state competition. Holleran, the younger brother of 2002 Duquesne graduate Matt Holleran, holds his high school's record of 58.14 in the 100 breast. North Allegheny was the WPIAL runner-up in 2002.

Weseloh was a two-time letterwinner at Subway Academy and the school's record holder in the 400 meter freestyle event. He is also an avid participant in sailing, placing fourth in youth nationals and reaching the gold level, the highest attainable in the sport.

Yeager was a four-year letterman at Dallas High. A 10th place finisher in the 100 backstroke at the state championships, he also earned district medals in the 100 back, 200 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay and 200 medley relay.
