The men's swimming team opened day one of three of the Akron Invitational, participating in two events, the 1650-yard freestyle and the 800-yard freestyle relay.

Freshman Hugo Erse placed 7th of 18 swimmers in the 1650 free while the 800 free relay team of Josh Hoffman, Andrew McConnell, Travis Kiepert and Hugo Erse finished 14th.

The Dukes will partake in a full day of swimming action on Friday and Saturday.
