The Dukes' volleyball team dropped a 3-1 Atlantic 10 decision to visiting Temple Friday evening at the Palumbo Center. Duquesne took game one 30-27 before the Owls won three straight (30-24, 30-27, 30-18) for the victory.
Duquesne (10-8, 0-3 Atlantic 10) were led by senior Jacqui Gerlach (St. Henry, Ohio / St. Henry) with 12 kills while freshman Diana Wuebker (St. Henry, Ohio / St. Henry), junior Sarah Morrow (Baytown, Texas / Robert E. Lee) and sophomore Ashley Macko (Pittsburgh, Pa. / South Park) each added 11 kills. Macko led the match with 16 digs followed by Morrow with 15. Temple (13-5, 4-0) was paced by Xu Yun and Liu Shu with 16 kills each.
The Dukes (10-8, 0-3) continue their Homecoming Weekend activity when they host La Salle (8-11, 0-4) Saturday in a 7:00 pm match at the Palumbo Center.
