The men's swimming team opened its 2002-03 season with a 142-58 loss to visiting St. Bonaventure.

Freshman Hugo Erse won the 1,000-yard freestyle event with a time of 10:15.33 and placed second in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:55.64, just .25 behind the winner. Also finishing second for DU was freshman John Holleran (100 breast).

The Dukes return to action on Saturday, Nov. 9 as they host Niagara at 1:00 pm at Towers Pool.
