Andrew Marshall, the club technical director and head coach for FC Pittsburgh, joined the Duquesne coaching staff in the spring of 2022.
In his first two seasons on the Bluff, Marshall helped the Dukes accrue 19 wins, including an 11-win season and second place finish during the regular season in the Atlantic 10 in 2022. Along the way, Duquesne earned its first national ranking (reaching No. 24 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25) since 2005.
Marshall, who had a highly successful coaching career at nearby Quaker Valley High School, brings over 17 years of experience to the Duquesne sideline.
Marshall, who created, implemented and oversaw the execution of FC Pittsburgh’s Player Development Model since 2015, went 94-21-4 (.807) as head coach at Quaker Valley from 2015-19. The 2019 Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association 2A Boys Coach of the Year, Marshall guided the Quakers to a pair of WPIAL and PIAA titles in his five years as head coach.
The Ellicott City, Md., native also brings college coaching experience at Goucher (2010), York (2012) and Geneva (2014) to the Duquesne sideline.
A former eight-year professional player, Marshall holds multiple USSF and USC coaching licenses and certifications.
A 2007 graduate of Towson University, Marshall started 76 times as a defender from 2003-06. As a senior, he co-captained a team that reached a national ranking of 15th in earning an NCAA Tournament bid.
He began his professional career with USL Crystal Palace Baltimore following graduation. His career concluded with two seasons with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in 2013-2014.
