Pittsburgh, Pa. – Sophomore Sasha Petrochko of the Duquesne University golf team has been named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week for her performance to open the 2026 spring season at the Space Coast Classic, presented by MoonGolf.

It marks the second honor of the 2025-26 season for the native of Hermitage, Pa., as Petrochko also collected A-10 Golfer of the Week accolades last fall after tying for first at the Red Flash Invitational. In two years with the program, Petrochko has collected a total of eight weekly honors from the conference office, including three A-10 Golfer of the Week plaudits while also being a five-time A-10 Rookie of the Week during her first season at the NCAA Division I level in 2024-25.

At the Space Coast Classic, presented by MoonGolf, in Melbourne, Fla., at Duran Golf Club, Petrochko fired a 214 over the course of 54 holes, opening with a 70 (-2) before handing in a 73 (+1) in the second round. She closed the tournament with a 71 (-1) to finish under par (-2) for the competition, becoming the first student-athlete in program history to accomplish the feat. She posted a total of nine birdies throughout the course of the tournament, including four in the first round.

Petrochko tied for sixth individually at the Space Coast Classic, presented by MoonGolf, with Mi Li of Penn, who logged rounds of 72, 71 and 71, respectively, over the course of the tournament. In 15 career appearances, Petrochko owns nine finishes in the top 10, including four in the top five.

Led by head coach Colleen Meyers, Duquesne is prepping for the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship. Play begins Monday, April 20, and concludes Wednesday, April 22, in Orlando, Fla., at Evermore Resort.
