WASHINGTON, D.C. — Duquesne senior Hanna Pawela was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week for a program-record fourth time following a dominant Senior Day performance against Rhode Island.

Pawela recorded a season-high seven caused turnovers, six ground balls and three draw controls in her final game on Saturday. Her seven caused turnovers were the most by any A-10 defender in a game this season.

The Glen Allen, Virginia, native capped her career with 158 caused turnovers — the second-most in program history and the most among all active Division I players. She also finished fourth in school history in ground balls with 169, a total that ranks fourth among all active Division I players.

Although Duquesne has concluded its regular season with one week remaining on the conference schedule, Pawela currently leads the A-10 in caused turnovers per game (3.00) for the third straight year. She ranks fifth nationally in the category, one year after leading the nation. She also sits second in the A-10 and 15th nationally in ground balls per game (2.93).

Pawela earned A-10 Defensive Player of the Week twice as a junior and now twice in her senior campaign. Her first honor this season came after posting six caused turnovers in the Dukes' conference-opening win at George Washington.
