WASHINGTON, D.C. – Duquesne lacrosse seniors Mackenzie Leszczynski and Hanna Pawela have been named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team, announced Thursday following a vote by the league's head coaches.

Both Leszczynski and Pawela earned Atlantic 10 End of Season honors last year after standout junior seasons.

Flourtown, Pa., native and midfielder Mackenzie Leszczynski was voted All-Atlantic 10 Second Team for the second consecutive season in 2024 after leading Duquesne with 36 goals and 48 points. She has ranked among the conference's top 10 in goals for the past two seasons and was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team in 2022 after scoring 22 goals as a freshman. Leszczynski reached the 100-goal milestone late last season and enters her senior year with 103 career goals and 134 points. She also ranks third in program history with 162 career draw controls.

Reigning NCAA leader in caused turnovers per game (3.76), Hanna Pawela claimed a spot on the A-10 All-Academic Team for the second straight season in 2024. She set multiple Duquesne records last year, including single-season caused turnovers (64) and single-game caused turnovers (10), while also collecting 70 ground balls — the second-most in a single season by a Duke. Her 4.12 ground balls per game ranked second nationally. Pawela surpassed 100 career caused turnovers and ground balls as a junior and enters the 2025 season ranked fourth all-time at Duquesne in caused turnovers (113) and ninth in ground balls (124).

Pawela will serve as a team captain for the Dukes this season, while Leszczynski was named to the program's newly formed leadership council.

Led by first-year head coach Tracy Coyne, the Dukes were picked to finish ninth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, also announced Thursday.
