Football Inks Three During Early Signing Period

PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne University football program announced the signing of three recruits during college football's early signing period. The Dukes inked incoming freshmen Nick Collins, Jr. (DB, Orlando, FL), Santino LaMolinare (OL, Bethel Park, PA), and Will Martin (LB, Pittsburgh, PA).

"We are excited to welcome this talented group to the Duquesne football family," head coach Jerry Schmitt said. "They will be strong additions as we continue to grow and build on our championship tradition. I'm grateful for the hard work of our staff throughout this recruiting cycle."

  • Led Seton LaSalle to the 2025 WPIAL District Championship, scoring all three touchdowns out of the wildcat while adding an interception, four tackles, and two tackles for loss in the title game
  • Guided the Rebels to a PIAA State Semifinal appearance as a senior, finishing with 69 tackles, 3 sacks, 10 TFLs, 3 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 8 offensive touchdowns, and over 300 all-purpose yards
  • Committed to Duquesne over multiple FBS offers
  • Earned High Honors academically and was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

Nick Collins, Jr.

  • All-District and All-Conference defensive back out of Edgewater High School
  • Spent time at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando
  • Recorded two pick-sixes during senior season to help lead team to a district title
  • Also competed in varsity baseball
  • Father, Nick, was a three-time All-Pro in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers from 2005–2011 and is a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame
