Pittsburgh, Pa. – Former forward
Jayden Da of the Duquesne University men's soccer team has signed a contract with Columbus Crew 2 for the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) NEXT Pro season.
Da, a native of Rockville, Md., appeared in 16 games for the Dukes last fall, including 13 starts. He finished second on the team in shots (35), shots on goal (19), goals (7) and points (17) and was selected to both the
2023 All-Atlantic 10 Second Team as well as the
2023 United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Third Team.

In three seasons at Duquesne, Da appeared in 46 games, scoring 20 points thanks to eight goals and four assists. He also posted 48 shots, half of which were on goal. Da was also successful on his only attempt on a penalty kick, scoring at Davidson in October.
Da was selected with the No. 29 overall pick in the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) Superdraft, presented by Adidas, in December, becoming the first student-athlete in program history to be chosen in the first round.
Led by head coach
Chase Brooks, who enters his 12th year on the sideline for Duquesne in 2024, the Dukes recorded an overall record of 8-7-3 (.528) last season, including a 4-2-2 (.625) mark in the A-10.
