Jill Vacanti (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) registered her third hat trick of the season, but the Duquesne lacrosse team was defeated by Central Michigan by a score of 15-8 in a non-conference contest on Thursday evening at the CMU Lacrosse Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Dukes jumped out to a 7-1 lead midway through the first half, highlighted by three goals by Vacanti and a pair of scores from junior attacker
Megan Buettner (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley).
- The Chippewas would respond with 12 straight goals to gain a 13-7 advantage with 15:47 to play in the second half.
- Freshman midfielder
Carlee Braverman (Laurel, N.J./Laurel) stopped the Central Michigan surge with an unassisted goal. at the 14:16 mark of the second period.

Megan Konieczny (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) scored her first goal of the season for the Dukes in the contest.
