June 20, 2016 PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University head men's basketball coach Jim Ferry announced today that Dominic Lombardi has been named director of player development.
Lombardi, a native of Indiana, Pa., comes to DU after spending the past two seasons as the video coordinator at the University of South Florida.
Prior to his move to Tampa, Lombardi spent two seasons as the assistant video coordinator at Kentucky.
"I'm extremely excited to have Dominic join our staff," said Ferry. "He is a local guy from a basketball family who has gained high-level experience under both John Calipari at Kentucky and Orlando Antigua at South Florida. I'm very happy to welcome him home."
Lombardi played for his father, Joe, for three seasons at IUP before serving as a student assistant coach as a senior.
He completed his undergraduate degree in marketing at IUP in 2012. Lombardi moved on to Kentucky where he was part of a staff that helped the Wildcats to the 2013-14 national championship game.
He accompanied Antigua, a former Kentucky assistant, to USF prior to the 2014-15 season.
Lombardi replaces Brian Baudinet, who was elevated to assistant coach in May.
