Former Duquesne University soccer players Ben Horner (Butler, Pa./Butler) and Stefan Lundberg (Lower Burrell, Pa./Kiski Area) recently signed contracts to play for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Professional Soccer Team, a member of the United Soccer League's Pro League. They join fellow DU graduate Jason Kutney who first joined the Hounds in 2006.
Horner played in all 18 contests for the Dukes this season, making 17 starts and assisting on goals in wins over Army and George Washington. For his career, he is ranked among Duquesne's all-time leaders in shots, assists and matches started. Horner started the first game of the season for the Riverhounds and scored a goal in the contest.
Lundberg is among Duquesne's all-time most prolific scorers, sitting sixth all-time in career goals with 15. He is seventh all-time in career points with 40 and has tallied four game-winning goals at Duquesne. A 2010 NSCAA All-Region selection and Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference honoree, he finished the season second on the team in scoring with 15 points on six goals and three assists.
