RICHMOND, VIRGINIA - Duquesne University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams virtually doubled their first round scores in the second day of the Atlantic 10 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Sports Backers Stadium in the city of Richmond.

The women's team finished in fourth place of nine teams with a score of 97 after tallying a first day's mark of 48. The men's team ended up with 70 points, exactly double their first round mark of 35, for fifth place in the eight team competition.

Junior Nicole Wiley (New Castle, Del. / Padua Academy), who had put in the third best time in the preliminaries of the 100 meter high hurdles, took the silver in Sunday's finals with a time of 14.42 seconds, a new Duquesne record. She broke her own mark of 14.54 seconds set last month at the Univeristy of Virginia's Lou Onesty / Milton G. Abramson Invitational.

Rhode Island defended both titles with a 71 point win over host Richmond in the women's competition and a 74 point margin over La Salle in the men's events.
