Richmond, Va. – The Duquesne women's tennis team traveled to Richmond, Va., for an Atlantic 10 matchup against VCU, falling 4-0 at the Thalhimer Tennis Center. With the loss, the Dukes drop to 6-10 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
In doubles action, VCU secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 (6-3) and No. 2 (6-2), leaving Duquesne chasing the match from the outset.
In singles play, the Dukes showed flashes of competitiveness but couldn't convert momentum into completed wins.
Naomi Lalonde dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision at the top spot, while
Taisia Yakunina fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 as VCU clinched the team victory. Several other courts remained unfinished, but there were signs of resistance,
Alexandra O'Brien battled to a tight 7-5 first set before trailing in the second, and
Jasa Roka and
Denisse Arinez Guilarte were still in progress when the match was decided.

Duquesne closes out the regular season on Friday, April 17th, when it battles Saint Joseph's at VCU during A-10 action.
