Wexford, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's tennis team opened a three-match homestand on Saturday, capturing a 5-2 victory over Ashland inside the Oxford Athletic Club. With the win, the Dukes improve to 2-3 this season.
In doubles play, Duquesne swept all three doubles flights, securing the early point and giving the team early momentum. At the top spot, sophomores

Aril Kayra Tuna took court one with a 6‑2 win over Doug Cree and Bernardo Duarte before junior
Austin Lai and sophomore
Tancredi Alfano followed up with a 6‑3 win over Eduardo Lima and Kaj Salzano. Senior

Teo Papadopoulos closed out doubles sweep with a 6‑3 victory over Tomas Paskauskas and Jonathan Frost.
In singles play, the Dukes captured four of six singles matches, with several standout performances in straight sets. At the top spot, Lana set the tone with a 6‑2, 6‑2 victory over Kaj Salzano before Tuna followed with a 6‑4, 6‑0 win against Bernardo Duarte. At third singles, Alfano dominated Ryohei Miyake 6‑2, 6‑0 while put together a clinical 6‑1, 6‑1 performance versus Reid Opel. Ashland picked up two singles points as Tomas Paskauskas earned a 6‑3, 6‑3 win over Manning and Jonathan Frost advanced by default over
Uvan Patel.
