Buffalo, N.Y. – The Duquesne women's tennis team continued its season on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 6-1 decision at Buffalo, inside the Miller Tennis Center.

The Bulls captured the early advantage in doubles play, winning two of the three matches. At the top spot, senior Jasa Roka and sophomore Naomi Lalonde fell 6-1 to Maria Glowacka and Esmee Andresen, while junior Sofia Serrano and sophomore Denisse Arinez Guilarte dropped a 6-2 decision to Sarah Hartel and Julia Laspro at the third position.

Buffalo carried that momentum into singles, taking five of six matches to secure the victory. Arinez Guilarte recorded the lone Dukes win at the fifth spot, edging Blanca Berges in a thrilling three-set match, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9. At the top of the lineup, Lalonde fell 6-8 (8-6), 6-1, 6-2 to Andresen, while Roka lost 6-4, 6-2 to Glowacka at the second position. Senior Alexandra O'Brien dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Laspro at third singles, and Serrano fell 7-5, 6-3 to Hartel. At the final singles spot, senior Taisia Yakunina finished with a 6-1, 6-3 loss to Sofia Zagumennova.

Duquesne returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 1, when it travels to Toledo, Ohio to take on the Rockets, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
