Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's tennis team captured its first win of the season on Friday evening, securing a 4-3 victory over Colgate in its first home match of the season, inside Oxford Athletic Club. With the win, the Dukes improved to 1-2 overall this season.

In doubles play, Duquesne captured wins at the first and second position to earn the early point. A the top spot, senior Alfrendo Vogelaar and junior Austin Lai secured a 6-1 win over Will Bulger and Tim Vargas while sophomores Enrique Lana and Aril Kaya Tuna downed Aidan Chung and Tim Viding, 6-4 at the second slot.

During singles play, the two teams split all six matches, earning the Dukes the victory. At the top spot, Lana, earned himself a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Lochlan Seth at the number one spot. At third singles, Tuna downed Falcon, 6-1, 6-2 before Vogelaar registered a 6-0, 7-6, 6-1 victory over Bulger at the four spots.

Duquesne returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 31, when it travels to Buffalo, N.Y., to take on Buffalo at 1:30 p.m.
