Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's golf team continued its 2025-26 season by finishing 15th at the Nittany Lion Invitational in University Park, Pa., at the Penn State Blue Course. Over the course of 54 holes Sunday and Monday, the Dukes closed at 936 (310-313-313).

TEAM LEADERBOARD
Penn State earned the team title on its home course, finishing with a 54-hole score of 878, just a stroke ahead of Delaware. The Blue Hens made a charge on the final day Monday, closing with the best round of the tournament at 286 but fell one stroke shy of the Nittany Lions. Yale (880) finished third, followed by Maryland (881) and Navy (893).

THERE SHE GOES AGAIN
Sophomore Sasha Petrochko put the finishes touches on the best tournament in the program's young NCAA Division I history Monday, finishing third individually. She opened with a 70 (-2) in the first round and matched that in round two before closing out play Monday with a 74 (+2). In handing in a 214 (-2) over 54 holes, Petrochko logs the first tournament under par in school history. Petrochko collected a total of 10 birdies over the first two rounds, including on nine different holes. The only hole she birdied twice in the opening two rounds at Penn State Blue Course was the 343-yard par four at No. 15, which happened to be her final hole of each round. Earning medalist honors at the Nittany Lion Invitational was Mia Sessa of Yale, who opened with a 66 (-6) and finished at 211 (-5), while Surapa Janthamunee of Maryland finished a stroke ahead of Petrochko at 213 (-3).

FINISHING STRONG
Sophomore Katie Fodale saved her best round for last Monday, firing a 74 (+2) and collecting three birdies along the way en route to closing the tournament at 235. Fodale has been remarkably consistent in her first two tournaments of the 2025-26 campaign, as she fired a 234 over 54 holes at the Bucknell Fall Invitational to open the year. Thanks to her performance Monday, Fodale rose 15 spots on the individual leaderboard.
