FAIRFAX, Va. – Senior David Williams (400m) and freshman Louie Liberatore (javelin) each set new program records to headline a trio of medalists for Duquesne on Day One of the IC4A Championships Saturday at George Mason Stadium. Sophomore Christian Cupp also reached the podium with a silver-medal finish in long jump as the Dukes collected three medals on the day.

LIVE RESULTS

Williams capped his collegiate career in style, breaking the school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.22 seconds, eclipsing Mohamed Cisse's 2016 mark of 47.40. The performance earned Williams a third-place finish, marking his second consecutive bronze medal after placing third at last week's Atlantic 10 Championships.
Liberatore continued his standout freshman season with a school-record throw of 64.50 meters (211 feet, 7 inches) in the javelin to take third. The mark shattered his previous personal best by more than 11 feet and surpassed Alex Gladysiewski's 2014 record of 62.20 meters. It also places Liberatore in position to qualify for the NCAA East Regional; official selections will be announced Thursday, May 22.
Cupp earned his first IC4A medal in the long jump, recording a personal-best leap of 7.21 meters (23 feet, 8 inches) to finish second overall.
