Corinne Webb have been selected as team captains for the 2024 Duquesne Lacrosse season.
"We are so excited to award these three with all the added responsibilities and extras that come along with being a team captain," said head coach
Corinne Desrosiers. "They each bring their own unique but skilled perspective that will cover the entire team with leadership, love and increasing that standard of excellence that we are working to inject into this dynamically new group. A hearty congratulations to Em, Hanna and Corinne!"
Curtis, an attacker from Yardley, Pa., has started all 33 games over the past two seasons and is coming off a career-best six goals last season. She enters her senior campaign with 20 career points, featuring 10 goals and 10 assists.
Pawela was named to the A-10 All-Academic Team last season after starting all 16 games on defense. The Glen Allen, Va. native ranked fifth nationally with an A-10-best 2.44 caused turnovers per game and was third in the conference in ground balls per game (2.62) a year ago. Pawela has played 29 career games as a Duke in two seasons and started 27.
Webb is coming off a redshirt season, however was still an integral part of the program and was named a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American. As a freshman in 2022, Webb, an attacker from Ridgely, Md., scored four goals in 15 games and made two starts.
All three of the captains also have earned spots on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll every season at Duquesne.
