Rodriguez-Shaw to Compete at Women's Lacrosse World Championships

2022 A-10 Rookie of the Year will represent Puerto Rico

TOWSON, Md. – Duquesne University rising sophomore Delaney Rodriguez-Shaw will compete for Puerto Rico in the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's World Championship, which will be held June 29 - July 9, 2022 in Maryland.
 
Rodriguez-Shaw and Puerto Rico open pool play on Thursday, June 30 at 1 p.m. versus the Netherlands at Tiger Field in Towson Maryland on ESPN+. The team will play each of the following three days versus Korea Republic (7/1 at 6 p.m.), Israel (7/2 at 2 p.m.) and Norway (7/3 at 10 a.m.). All of Puerto Rico's pool play games are scheduled to broadcast on ESPN+.
 
Rodriguez-Shaw was Puerto Rico's leading goal scorer at the 2019 U19 World Championship with 24 goals. She is coming off of a spring in which she led the Dukes with 43 goals and 12 assists on her way to earning 2022 Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Year honors.
 
This will be Puerto Rico's first appearance in the World Lacrosse Women's Championship at the senior level. Almost its entire roster has either played at the NCAA level or committed to an NCAA institution.
 
The 30-team field is the largest-ever for a senior-level Women's World Championship conducted by World Lacrosse. Puerto Rico was seeded 25th.
