PITTSBURGH, Pa. – After a season-opening loss against #20/22 Ohio State, the Duquesne women's basketball team heads to Loretto, Pa. in hopes of its first win against the Saint Francis (Pa.) Red Flash on Wednesday night. The Dukes (0-1) and Red Flash (0-2) are scheduled to tip-off at 5:00 p.m. at DeGol Arena.

THE SERIES
- The Dukes and Red Flash will face off for the 35th time, with Duquesne holding a 28-6 lead in the all-time series.
- Duquesne has won 10 consecutive meetings, including last year's 72-69 overtime thriller at La Roche University. Laia Solé (17-25 FG) led the Dukes with 38 points; the most by a Duke in 21 seasons. Duquesne trailed SFU by 11 points with 8:57 left in the fourth quarter and rallied to earn its ninth consecutive win of the season. Solé's 17 field goals are the second-most ever by a Duke in a single game.
- The Dukes are 13-4 against the Red Flash in Loretto and have earned fourth-straight victories. SFU last defeated Duquesne on Nov. 27, 2007 in a 66-54 overtime victory at DeGol Arena.
- Against NEC teams, the Dukes are 40-14 all-time and have won 23 consecutive matchups dating back to the 2009-10 season.
LAST TIME OUT
- Laia Solé registered her third career double-double, which included a career-high 12 rebounds, but the Dukes could not fend off #20/22 Ohio State, 82-47 on Sunday in Columbus.
- The Dukes made 18-of-21 free throw attempts.
- Duquesne newcomers Diamond Bragg (3 points), Ny Langley (8 points), Lindsey Linard (2 points), Megan McConnell (7 points), Tess Myers (5 points) and Snezhana Serafimoska (2 points) combined for 27 points in their first action in a Dukes' uniform.
- The Dukes held OSU's Dorkah Juhasz, an All-Preseason Big Ten selection and Naismith Watch List member, to just 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting.
SCOUTING SAINT FRANCIS (Pa.)
- The Red Flash opened their season similarly to the Dukes, on the road against Big Ten competition in Michigan State (L, 44-77) and Penn State (L, 54-87).
- Karson Swogger (11.0 ppg) and Lili Benzel (10.5 ppg) have led SFU in scoring through the early season.
- Hailey Thomas (14 pts., 6 reb.) and Swogger (13 pts., 4 reb., 5 ast.) led the Red Flash against Duquesne a season ago with a combined 27 points and 10 rebounds.
- The Red Flash were predicted to finish third in the 2020-21 NEC Preseason Poll.
- In Keila Whittington's first season at the helm of the program in 2019-20, SFU went 11-19 and finished fourth in the NEC.
- Swogger earned All-NEC Third Team honors in 2019-20.
