BROOKLYN, NY - Charlie Brown scored a game-high 28 points to lead tenth-seeded Saint Joseph's to a 92-86 win over No. 7 Duquesne in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Championship at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
Eric Williams Jr. scored 23 points,
Lamar Norman Jr. had 18 and
Marcus Weathers posted a 17-10 double-double for the Dukes, who cut the Saint Joe's lead to 75-74 on a Weathers dunk with 5:54 left.
The Hawks responded with a 9-0 run, during which four different players scored, to push the lead to 84-74 with just under four minutes to go.
The Dukes pulled to within five on a Williams Jr. three-point play with 47 seconds left, but could get no closer as SJU hit three free throws down the stretch for the final margin.
Duquesne, which hit seven of its first eight shots, matched its largest lead at 25-15 on Norman Jr.'s third 3-pointer. The freshman guard, who was making his first start since Dec. 13, hit his first five shots in scoring 13 of DU's first 25 points.
Saint Joe's, which got 14 points from Brown in the opening 20 minutes, went on a 11-2 run to take a 49-43 lead at the half.
The Dukes scored the first seven points of the second half to take a one-point lead.
It was a one-possession game for nearly seven minutes, before Brown converted a three-point play and Lamar Kimble followed with a pair of free throws to make it 69-61.
DU cut it to one on a Williams Jr. bucket with 8:47 and again on Weathers' dunk..
Saint Joseph's, which advances to face No. 2 Davidson on Friday, shot 47.5 percent, including 11-of-29 from 3-point. Duquesne finished at 47 percent and 9-of-24 from 3-point.
SJU's 92 points were a Duquesne opponent season high and the Hawks' six turnovers were a DU opponent season low.

- Williams Jr. has scored a total of 84 points (28.0 ppg.) in DU's last three games (40 at Saint Louis, 21 vs. Dayton and 23 vs. Saint Joseph's). He shot 65.3 percent (32-of-49), including 11-of-20 from 3-point over that three-game span. He also averaged 7.7 rebounds in the last three games.
- Marcus Weathers finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Weathers, who had three double-doubles as a freshman at Miami, Ohio in 2016-17, went 9-of-12 from the foul line.
- Lamar Norman Jr., in his third start of the season - and first since Dec. 13 vs. Maryland Eastern Shore, hit his first five shots in finishing with 18 points. Norman Jr.'s four 3-pointers (4-of-7) tied his career high set in the UMES game. The 18 points were two shy of his career high set at St. Bonaventure.
