PHILADELPHIA - Julijana Vojinovic scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Duquesne to a 61-42 victory over Saint Joseph's on Wednesday night. This is the first-ever victory against the Hawks on their home floor and the best ever Atlantic 10 Conference start for the Dukes (17-3, 7-0 A-10).
Kadri-Ann Lass recorded four blocks and became the program's all-time leader. Paige Cannon also recorded a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling down 10 rebounds along with five blocks.
Sarah Veilleux led Saint Joseph's (9-10, 4-3 A-10) with 12 points.
The Dukes held the Hawks scoreless until the 4:42 mark of the 1st quarter. Duquesne held the lead the rest of the quarter, taking a 13-11 advantage after the first 10 minutes.
Each team would hold the lead twice in the 2nd quarter. A pair of Adashia Franklin foul shots put SJU ahead 19-17 at 5:43. This would be the final points of the half for the Hawks as the Dukes rattled off 13 straight points to take a 30-19 heading into halftime.
Duquesne never looked back as their lead reached 19 points before the final buzzer.
The Dukes won all four quarters and outrebounded the Hawks 44-to-39. Duquesne's bench, led by Amanda Kalin (six points, six rebounds) outscored Saint Joseph's 16-to-2.
On Sunday, Duquesne will host St. Bonaventure (7-13, 2-5 A-10) at 4PM. SBU plays Fordham on Thursday. The game will be nationally televised on NBC Sports Network.

- This is Duquesne's first win over Saint Joseph's on Hawk Hill in 28 tries
