PHILADELPHIA - Temple's Jessica Colucci stopped Duquesne's Meghan Frederick's shot with 32 seconds left to preserve the Owls' 18-17 victory on Sunday afternoon.

The Dukes fall to 7-8, 2-3 A-10 while the Owls jump ahead of DU in the conference standing with a record of 6-6, 3-2.

Coming off a career high 10 points in Friday's victory over Massachusetts, Frederick recorded seven points on five goals and a pair of assists. Kat McNish scored four times as did Katie Rekart while Cailin Colegrove and Sarah Cates scored two goals each.

The first half was played tight with four ties and three lead changes. With DU down three goals at the 19:11 mark of the half, Colegrove and Frederick scored goals 28 seconds apart to cut Temple's lead to 7-6.

The Dukes would tie the match at 8-8 on Frederick's fourth goal of the half with 2:28 to play, but the Owls would take a 9-8 lead into halftime after Stephany Parcell scored with 1:02 left.

TU dominated the first 10 minutes of the second half, scoring four straight goals to take a commanding 13-8 lead with 19:39 to play in regulation. However, Rekart scored 1:17 later followed by three McNish goals in a three-minute span to make the score 13-12 with 15 minutes to go.

Parcell would score two goals sandwiched between a Melissa Schweitzer goal to give TU a foul-goal cushion at 16-12 at the 13:17 mark.

Duquesne would score five of the next seven goals, the last by McNish at 2:09 to get DU within one goal at 18-17.

Amy Gladfelter won the ensuing draw control. Colucci made a save on a Riley Schamburg shot at the 1:14 mark. The teams exchanged turnovers with Rekart picking up a ground ball with 59 seconds to play. The Dukes had another chance to tie the match, but Colucci's save on a Frederick shot with32 seconds left prevented the match from going an extra period.

Duquesne closes out the regular season next weekend with a pair of home games versus Richmond on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and George Washington on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
