Regular season co-Champion Duquesne had a league-high four players named to the 2004 Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Academic All-Conference Team announced today. Senior defender
Kristina Rohall (West Chester, Pa./Henderson), a journalism major with a 3.95 GPA, was named the league's Student-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Rohall garners Student-Athlete of the Year honors for the second year in a row. The senior defender from West Chester, PA, enters this weekend's A-10 Championship spearheading a Duquesne defense which leads the Atlantic 10 with an 8.30 goals against average. Rohall has 28 groundballs and 27 caused turnovers to go along with a pair of assists. She is the 2004 Duquesne University Co-Female Athlete of the Year, a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society, and National Dean's List. She is a Collegiate All-America Scholar, a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, and a writer for the school paper, The Duquesne Duke.
Joining Rohall on the Academic All-Conference team are junior midfielder Laura App (Silver Spring, Md./Good Counsel) who has a 3.71 GPA in elementary education, junior midfielder Ginger Flocco (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) who has a 3.24 GPA in elementary education and junior goalkeeper Sarah Pacini (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) who has a 3.62 GPA in physical therapy.
Rohall is the sixth Duquesne Duke to be named the Atlantic 10 Academic Student-Athlete of the Year this season joining Ryan Bender (men's cross-country), Jason Kutney (men's soccer), Colleen McCroskey (women's rowing), Shea McMillan (women's indoor track and field) and Jimmy Tricco (men's basketball).
