Raleigh, North Carolina - Duquesne's men's and women's track and field teams opened their seasons Friday in the 2003 adidas Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University at NC State's Paul H. Derr Track. More than 3,000 athletes representing approximately 110 teams are competing in this two-day event, one of the premiere outdoor track meets of the season.
The men's team was led by junior Steve Moyer (Allentown, PA / Emmaus) who grabbed 11th place in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 32:25.36 and by the 4 x 1500 meter relay team which finished in 9th place with a mark of 16:06.86.
The women were led by sophomore Kristen Micsky (Greenville, PA / Reynolds) who tied for 16th place in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters (5 feet, 3 inches) and the 4 x 1500 meter relay team which also took 16th place with a time of 19:48.27.
The competition continues Saturday, March 29th starting at 10:00 a.m.
