Rodriguo Albayeros returned to the Bluff in July of 2026 to join the Duquesne coaching staff as an assistant.
Albayeros, a native of San Salvador, El Salvador, joins the staff for the Dukes after spending the 2025 campaign as an assistant coach at Franklin College. He has also coached with Century United and holds a US Soccer 11v11 Grassroots License.
During his undergraduate career, Albayeros appeared in 58 games at the NCAA level. He started his career at Florida Atlantic in 2019, appearing in seven games for the Owls before transferring to Duquesne. While playing the midfield for the Dukes, Albayeros played in 20 games, including seven starts, over the course of the 2021 spring and fall seasons. He also was a member of the Dukes during the 2022 campaign, when Duquesne peaked at No. 24 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll.
Earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology at Duquesne, Albayeros finished his career at NCAA Division II Catawba, where he earned 12 starts and played in 31 games overall over the course of the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He finished with a goal and two assists during his tenure with the Indians, who posted an overall record of 15-11-8 (.559) in the two years Albayeros was part of the program.
Named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2022-23, Albayeros would earn a master's degree from Catawba in mental health and counseling. He continued his career after college, playing for Toledo Villa FC of USL2 and the Charlottetown Hops of the NPSL before a stint in Perth, Australia, playing for Mandurah City FC.
