Patrick Davis, MD, joined the Duquesne University Sports Medicine & Welfare team in May of a 2026. He is a physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, specializing in sports medicine, and also is an assistant professor and the assistant program director for the sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Department of PM&R. 

Dr. Davis, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., attended the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y., where he competed on the swimming and diving team. He then completed his medical degree at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Upon conclusion of an internship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pa., Dr. Davis completed both his residency training and sports medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. 

Dr. Davis owns a passion for providing cutting-edge musculoskeletal care with a particular interest in utilizing ultrasound and orthobiologics to help student-athletes return to sport. He believes in education and joint decision-making in his practice so athletes play an active role in their recovery journey. An active participant in research, Dr. Davis’s particular interests include medical education, muscle injury and recovery, and the use of orthobiologics to aid in expedited recovery from injury.
