Krista Sandt joined the Duquesne bowling program as assistant coach in September of 2026.

“We’re excited and fortunate to add Krista to our program as an assistant coach,” head coach Jody Fetterhoff said. “She brings not only a vast experience as a bowler and coach, but also is respected within the bowling industry as a co-owner of BowlerX and Steel City Bowl. Her passion for the sport is unmatched, and I know our student-athletes will benefit as we continue to elevate the level of our program.”

Sandt has been involved in organized bowling for over 40 years. Competitively, Sandt owns nine 300 games during her career as well as seven certified 800 series. Her highest league average is 227 and she has averaged over 200 for 21 consecutive years. Her series career high of 845 stands as the house record at Blue Valley Lanes in Wind Gap, Pa., and she also owns the house record of 824 at Hampton Lanes in Northampton, Pa.

Inducted into the Pennsylvania State USBC Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025 in the category of superior performance, Sandt is also a member of the Allentown Area USBC Hall of Fame (Class of 2020) and the Bethlehem Area USBC Hall of Fame (Class of 2021). She is also a four-time Express Times Female Bowler of the Year, earning the honor in 2010, 2017, 2020 and 2025.

Sandt owns the national scoring record for team series, which includes one male and two female bowlers. In 2013, her 845 coupled with her teammates scores of 750 and 743, respectively, set the national mark of 2,338. She also owns one of the top five scores of a sanctioned women’s four-game series of 1,125.

In addition to her accomplishments in competition, Sandt is the co-owner of BowlerX, which was established in 2010, as well as Steel City Bowl in Bethlehem, Pa., which began operations in 2022 after formerly being known as Town & Country Lanes. BowlerX.com has become one of the largest online retailers of bowling equipment in the country. Sandt has been a USBC Silver Level Coach since 2013 and coached Junior Bowling Leagues for over 20 years. Since 2018, Sandt has served on the MOTIV Bowling Regional Staff and has also been a Turbo Staff Player since 2010.
