May 1, 2018 PITTSBURGH - Kylie Isaacs (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and Carter Henderson (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) were named Student-Athletes of the Year at Duquesne's annual Senior Luncheon held today in the ballroom of the Power Center.
   Isaacs, a record-setting women's tennis player, and Henderson, a football linebacker, were chosen from a pool seven finalists that were nominated by their coaches.
   Criteria for S-A of the Year include a GPA of 3.0 or above, participation with distinction in their sport and a demonstrated commitment to service. Additional female finalists included Jenny DelSignore (track), Linnea Faccenda (soccer) and Lexi Santer (swimming). Rico Galassi (cross country) and Andrew Ong (tennis) rounded out the male finalists.
Female Student-Athlete of the Year: Kylie Isaacs
   - 3.97 GPA in Information Systems Management
   - Business School co-Valedictorian
   - Three-time Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference
   - ITA Scholar, Beta Gamma Sigma invitee
   - Four-year starter at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles
   - Four-time first team All-Atlantic 10 (first player in program history to earn A-10 First Team honors at least three times)
   - Holder of 10 school records
Male Student-Athlete of the Year: Carter Henderson
   - Completed his undergraduate degree in finance last May and is currently working toward his MBA
   - First Team All-Northeast Conference linebacker
   - Led the team in tackles in both 2016 & 2017
   - Part of DU's 2016 NEC co-Championship team
   - Selected to participate in the College Gridiron Showcase and Symposium
   - Is a member of the Duquesne Asset Management Group
   - Opened his own investment fund for which he has donated proceeds to the Warrior Canine Connection
   Two other awards were also presented during the luncheon, including the Leadership Award which was won by tennis player Ally Miller (Calgary, Alberta/National Sport School).
   The Bluff Cup, which is presented to the athletic team which demonstrates outstanding service, support and participation in our surrounding communities, was awarded to the men's and women's tennis teams for the second consecutive year.
