Five of Duquesne University's eight spring athletics teams will head to warmer climates this weekend for the school's week-long spring break.
The baseball team will head to Bradenton, FL where the Red and Blue will face a 10-game schedule highlighted by a meeting with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, March 5 at McKechnie Field. The Dukes will also play Boston College, St. Bonaventure, Valparaiso, Holy Cross, Harvard, St. Francis and Assumption while in the Sunshine State. The lacrosse team opens its 2003 slate in California where the Dukes will take on California-Berkeley on Sunday, the University of Denver on Monday and St. Mary's (CA) on Wednesday.
The golf team is headed to Pinehurst, NC where the Dukes will hit the links eight times on some challenging courses to prepare for the spring season. The men's tennis team will travel to Kissimmee, FL and face Stetson, Boston College, Rollins College and stop at Morgantown, WV on the way home to face the Mountaineers while the women's team is also heading to Florida to tune up for the spring slate.
