Duquesne University basketball players Beth Friday (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Jimmy Tricco (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy College Prep) have each been named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District 2 Basketball Team.
As members of the District 2 team, Tricco and Friday - along with 39 other student athletes from eight districts in each sport - will have their names placed on the national ballot, with the 2003 Academic All-America Basketball Teams to be released on March 6 and 7. District 2 consists of NCAA Division I schools from Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
