MORGANTOWN, W.V. - Duquesne freshman diver
Sidney O'Donnell (Solon, Ohio / Solon) took part in the 2020 NCAA Zone A Diving Championship on Monday and Tuesday afternoon at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park hosted by West Virginia University.
O'Donnell recorded a score of 211.65 in the 1-meter dive (51st place) in addition to a 220.15 in the 3-meter dive (48th place).
The freshman was a two-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week and earned a bronze medal on the 1-meter boards at the Atlantic 10 Championship for the Dukes. She became the first Duquesne diver to medal at the conference championship meet since 1996.
O'Donnell qualified for the championship at the Western Pennsylvania Invitational hosted by Pitt on Friday, Jan. 24, recording a score of 279.75 on the 1-meter boards and 287.45 during the 3-meter for the Dukes. Both figures represented school records at Duquesne, as well.
