SJU came out in the 1st quarter and quickly built an 11-2 lead and went up by 15 points at 21-6 at the 2:17 mark.

Duquesne was able to cut the deficit to nine points at the beginning of the 2nd quarter on Amanda Kalin's and-1, which made the score 25-16. However, the Hawks went on a 14-4 run to make the score 39-20 at 2:23. A 3-pointer by Omogrosso closed out the scoring with the Dukes trailing 40-25 going into halftime.
