PITTSBURGH - Chassidy Omogrosso scored 19 points and Julijana Vojinovic added 18 to lead Duquesne to a 73-54 victory over Toledo on Wednesday night at the Palumbo Center.
The win was the sixth in a row for the Dukes (8-2).
Kadri-Ann Lass scored 12 points, pulled down nine rebounds and had six blocks. Paige Cannon recorded a game-high 10 rebounds. Vojinovic also had six assists.
Kaayla McIntyre led Toledo (6-2) with 14 points.
The Dukes, who finished the contest with 11 3-pointers, converted their first five attempts from behind-the-arc in the 1st quarter. The lead would change hands three times and there would be six ties as the teams were deadlocked at 23-23 after the first 10 minutes.
Duquesne doubled up Toledo 16-8 in the 2nd quarter, holding the Rockets to only three field goals. The Dukes went on a 12-2 run midway through the quarter and took a 39-31 lead into halftime.
McIntyre opened the 3rd quarter with a layup to get UT within six points, but that is as close as they would come. The Dukes would hold a double-figure lead from the 4:35 mark to the end of the quarter, taking a 57-47 advantage.
Toledo only made a pair of field goals in the 4th quarter as Helmi Tulonen's free throw with 35 seconds closed out the scoring and gave the Dukes its largest lead of the contest at 19 points.
Up next, the Dukes welcome Akron to the Palumbo Center on Saturday at 3:00 as part of a double-header with the men's team, who face Delaware State at 12:30.
